Professionals about Black Mountain Golf Club after Kings Cup

Thanks for the memories at Black Mountain Golf Club!

The King’s Cup Golf Hua Hin has left an impression not only on the huge galleries but also on the players who were mesmerized by the beauty and splendour of playing at the immaculate Black Mountain Golf Club.

It was a fantastic week filled with drama and tension as the event saw a host of star names including Black Mountain sponsored players Johan Edfors, Prom Meesawat, Rikard Karlberg and Jazz Janewattananon vying for top honours.

In the end, it was Hua Hin native Prayad Marksaeng who emerged victorious as he sensationally sealed a Royal double.

In this blog, read what players at the King’s Cup Golf Hua Hin have to say on the event and the Black Mountain course.

Prayad Marksaeng of Thailand

I like the layout of this golf course. It suits my game and it is a very beautiful course. It is fantastic that I can win at home. I feel very proud that I can keep the King and Queen’s trophy on home soil.

Rikard Karlberg of Sweden

The greens are always great here and this week we played on really fast greens! This is where I stay when I’m playing in Asia so I treat the Black Mountain Golf Club as my second home.

Anirban Lahiri of India

I really like this track. This is where I got my first top-five on the Asian Tour way back in 2009. I always felt positive coming out here to Black Mountain. I think the greens are the fastest out here in Asia.

Johan Edfors (Swe)

I own a villa that overlooks the 11th hole and it’s really beautiful waking up to such fantastic views every morning. I try to spend as much time as I can down here. I’ve a home in Sweden but I probably spend as much time as I do here than in Sweden because Black Mountain has everything that I’m looking for. It has a top class golf course and a great practice facility and the weather’s always nice and the people are very friendly.

Siddikur of Bangladesh

I played here in 2010 and I have good memories. It is a nice course to play on but it is very challenging because the wind plays a huge factor here.

Jazz Janewattananond (Tha)

This is my home course. I’ve lived in Hua Hin for about two years now so I feel very comfortable here. I had a swing fix in 2012 but that didn’t work in my advantage. I changed back to my old swing and that has been the key to a good season for me. The toughest part of playing at Black Mountain is playing against the strong wind.

Thitiphun Chuayprakong (Tha)

I like playing this golf course. When I’m not travelling on the Asian Tour, I always come to Hua Hin to practice. I like it here in Hua Hin because it is peaceful and quiet.
