Hellgren scales to the peak at Black Mountain – the final round in pictures

Björn Hellgren cruised to victory at the Black Mountain Invitational by Nordea when he shot a final round three-under-par 69 on Saturday. The ice cold Swede registered a 13-under-par 203 total to defeat Sebastian Söderberg of Sweden by four shots at the immaculate Black Mountain Golf Club.

The overnight leader got off to a fast start when he opened with two birdies but slipped back to second when he dropped shots on four, nine and 10.

Hellgren swiftly recovered after the blemishes with a spirited comeback by shooting four birdies on holes 11, 13, 14 and 16 to win the 416,000 Sek (approximately 2.08 million Baht) event.

“After 12 holes, I figured that I was leading or tied with someone. I didn’t know what or who was leading after 10 but I knew I needed to shift gears and find some birdies,” said Hellgren.

“There were 28 guys here and all had the potential to win. My putter was hot and I have been playing very well lately. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don’t, but this was my week,” he added.

The Black Mountain Invitational by Nordea is part of the Nordea Tour. The three-day event was played in a pro-am format where 28 professionals were paired with three amateurs in their group.
