High five for Thongchai and Jazz

Thongchai Jaidee and Jazz Janewattananond, the current and future stars of golf, enjoyed a strong finish at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters on Sunday. Thongchai posted the day’s low round eight-under-par 64 while Jazz shot a 67 as they ended their campaign in tied fifth on 14-under-par 274 at the US$750,000 Asian Tour event. Thai legend Thongchai was delighted with his superb round highlighted by nine birdies against one blemish as he claimed his best result so far this year. “It has been a fantastic week for me, starting with the Awards Night till
today when I finished off with a 64. I made a good comeback today and I’m very proud of how I played,” said Thongchai, who won the Asian Tour’s Player of the Decade award earlier this week. Jazz reinforced his status as Asia’s rising star when he continued his love affair in Indonesia. He also finished tied sixth at the Indonesian Open last year. “I’ve found a new liking for Indonesia because every time I play here I finish top-10. Despite feeling tired after playing three events in a row, I was all charged up on the first day but on the second day, I bogeyed the last three holes because I lost focus. “I went back to my hotel for a much needed rest and it has been bogey-free for the last two rounds. I’m really happy,” smiled the lanky Thai.
