Thongchai continues to shine at the Nordea Masters

The second day of Nordea Masters on PGA National in Malmoe featured a lot of Black Mountain players in action.

Thongchai Jaidee continued to build on yesterday’s success and put up another impressive round. Starting off with a steady 36 on the outward nine he really picked up speed during the inward nine, mixing four birdies and two bogeys to post a two under par 70. This gives him a two day total of five under par and a tied third place on the leaderboard. He will head in to tomorrow’s third round only one shot behind Spain’s Alvaro Quiros and France’s Victor Dubuisson.

Rikard Karlberg had a steady round where he managed to perform some late round heroics to save what seemed to be a mission impossible on the final hole. Following an unfortunate trip into the water he made a beautiful chip shot which landed less than two metres from the flag and paved the way for an easy put to save par. Karlberg is still in contention at a total of two under par, only four shots from the lead.

Sebastian Söderberg came in to today’s round at a magnificent five under par. After a slow start with three bogeys on the outward nine he was able to bounce back with an eagle on the eleventh, followed by a birdie on twelfth. He finished the round at four over par and is currently at a total one under par for the tournament.

Johan Edfors and Björn Hellgren missed the cut and will not play during the final two days of the tournament.
