Prom’s ace raises spirits

Black Mountain sponsored player Prom Meesawat of Thailand had a round to remember when he fired an ace on the par-three second enroute to a second round four-under-par 66 at the Hong Kong Open on Friday.

The ‘big dolphin’ from Hua Hin will be having a merry time with his friends and we hope he continues to do well in Hong Kong this week especially after coming so close last year where he was pipped to the title in a play-off by Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimenez.

“I had 153 yards to the hole and I used my nine iron. I hit it straight at the pin and the ball rolled into the hole from eight feet. I was very happy. This is my fifth hole-in-one in a tournament. I will try to win the car during the weekend!

I have great memories here with the hole-in-one and finishing second last year. I won a bottle champagne (Deutz Champagne) so I will enjoy it with my friends tonight!

Obviously it is always a happy thing to get a hole-in-one in a tournament. It is not easy to make it so hopefully next time I can get a car! I struggled with my putter on my first nine but recovered nicely.

After the hole-in-one I made birdie, birdie and missed a short putt for birdie on hole five so the ace gave me some momentum.”
