The Asian Pacific Golf Summit 2016

Black Mountain Golf Club on Saturday hosted the 10th annual Asia Pacific Inter-Club Tournament. David Leadbetter and John Solheim were some of golfs biggest profiles in attendance.

The Asian Pacific Golf Summit is being held in Hua Hin, Thailand this weekend. The purpose of the summit is to get the golfing industry together to create a venue were general managers, agents and other players in the industry can meet and exchange ideas. In conjunction with the summit an 18 hole two men team golf competition was held at Black Mountain.

Black Mountains signature hole, the 11:th

Most golf courses has a hole players remembers long after they left. At Black Mountain Golf Club, it is the signature par three 11th hole. At 195 yards, with water short and right, a golf hole does not come much more difficult than this.

Adjacent to the 11th hole lays some of the private villas of Black Mountain. From here the members enjoys a first class view of the drama at the signature hole.

Meet our chef, Mårten Karlsson

Swedish executive chef Marten Karlsson came to Thailand for the travelling and scuba diving and liked it so much that he stayed on as a restaurant chef in Phuket. He eventually returned to Sweden to run his own small hotel and a golf restaurant, however, he missed Thailand very much – “I may be Swedish but I really don’t like the winter there and I missed Thailand a lot. After having lived here, it is not so easy to settle back into your home country,” he says definitely. When he got offered this job at Black Mountain, he jumped at it and has been here four years already.
