It could not have been a more prestigious honour for Prayad Marksaeng to become the first ever Thai player to win the King’s and Queen’s trophy.
Beaming with pride, Prayad, who turns 48 on January 30, 2014, sealed the deal with a sensational final round six-under-par 66 to defeat Black Mountain Golf Club sponsored player Rikard Karlberg of Sweden by one shot.
Hua Hin, Thailand, January 19: Hua Hin native Prayad Marksaeng completed a sensational Royal double when posted a six-under-par 66 to win the US$1 million King’s Cup Golf Hua Hin at the Black Mountain Golf Club.
With the Queen’s Cup already in his trophy cabinet, Prayad emerged as the popular and deserving champion with a winning total of 12-under-par 276 at the majestic Black Mountain Golf Club.

Rikard Karlberg could just as well been 8 under after 10 holes. He keeps ripping it from the tee and sticking it close to the pin on nearly every hole. Right now it’s hard to see how Karlberg won’t be King of the Mountain in a few hours. We will keep posting updates soon. See the Video Blog.

Hua Hin, Thailand, January 18: Korea’s Mo Joong-kyung seized the lead from home favourite Pro Meesawat of Thailand with a battling third round two-under-par 70 at the King’s Cup Golf Hua Hin on Saturday.
Mo, a veteran on the Asian Tour, overcame swirling wind speeds of 36 kph to put himself in position to win a long-awaited third title since his victory in Thailand in 2008.
