Big Bombers Headed For Black Mountain!

The battle of the big hitters is on in Thailand! The Thailand Long Drive Championship has been launched to hunt down the nation’s best longest drivers. The talent hunt will be held  at five golf courses located in four regions of the country.

The featured golf clubs that will stage the qualifiers include:

  • Star Dome Golf Club, Chiang Mai, February 2-3, 2018
  • Mountain Creek Golf Course, Nakornratchasima Province. February 9-10, 2018
  • Blue Canyon Country Club, Phuket, February 16-17, 2018
  • Suvarnabhumi Golf Course, February 23-2

The competition is open to all Thai males aged 18 years and above.

The final showdown for the championship will be staged and hosted by the award-winning Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin.

Commenting on the championship, Black Mountain’s managing director, Harald Elisson said, “This is fantastic for Thai golf and we are both delighted and honoured to play host to the finals of this championship.”

The winner of the Thailand Longest Drive Championship will represent the country at the World Long Drive Championship to be held in the United States.

New putting green open at Black Mountain

The new putting green at Black Mountain is opened. A summer of course upgrades is coming to an end as all golf course improvements are finished. Thailands best golf course is ready for high season.

International flights to Hua Hin

International flights to and from Hua Hin is close to reality as early as the end of the year. The airport authority has received a proposal from the Malaysian low-cost carrier Air Asia to operate daily flights between Hua Hin and its major hub in Kuala Lumpur.

Driving range to be upgraded

The driving range at Black Mountain will be upgraded in July.
– The goal is to make it look more like the golf course, says Black Mountain course manager Richard Halls.
During the renovation period in July the range will be closed.

– We will renovate the grass hitting areas and the target greens, add some bunkers for visual effect, make adjustments to the drainage system, add some arrogation and mow fairway shapes to the area, says Halls.
