Edfors back on the European Tour with win in China


Sweden’s Johan Edfors made a triumphant return to China when he broke free of the chasing pack by going on a birdie sprint in his last four holes to win the Shankai Classic presented by IDG. It was the Black Mountain player’s first victory since 2006 and it couldn’t come at a more befitting venue than China as it was in the Middle Kingdom that saw him win the first of three European Tour titles that year.

Karlberg’s Hong Kong blog: The feeling’s amazing!


Sweden’s Rikard Karlberg enjoyed his best round of the week when he closed with a four-under-par 66 at the Hong Kong Open to finish in tied-20th place.

The Black Mountain sponsored Swede was clearly elated his performance in Hong Kong has earned him a place in the US$7 million CIMB Classic- an Asian Tour and PGA Tour co-sanctioned event which will take place in Malaysia at the end of the month.

Thongchai clear opening hurdle in London


Last year’s runner-up Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand got off to a winning start at the Volvo World Match Play Championship on Wednesday. The three-time Asian Tour Order of Merit winner saw off Italy’s Francesco Molinari two up despite three-putting on the 17th hole to set-up a nervy trip down the last at the London Golf Club.
