Edberg bounces back at Omega European Masters

Pelle Edberg of Sweden is within sight of the Omega European Masters title thanks to a third round four-under-par 66 on Saturday.

The Black Mountain sponsored player traded four birdies, one eagle against two bogeys to sit in tied seventh position on seven-under-par 203 total at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Switzerland.

After slipping back with a second round 72, Edberg bounced back brilliantly and his efforts pushed him to within five shots of the leaders Matthew Fitzpatrick and Danny Willet.

Jazz Janewattananond of Thailand, also a Black Mountain player, shot a second straight 70 to lie in tied 16^th place, seven shots off the lead.

“I was struggling out there today as I didn’t take my chances on the front-nine. I didn’t putt well there but I made a good comeback on my back-nine which was also tough as the winds were swirling.

“They really picked up there and you really got to control your shots because if you don’t, they will cost you dearly. Although this is the first time I’m playing here, I’m not really surprised with the good run I’ve having. This is because I prepared myself well for this tournament. I trained really hard and I was mentally focused,” said Jazz.

Rikard Karlberg of Sweden posted a disappointing 74 for tied 24^th place.
