Jazz ends week on a high

Thailand’s Jazz Janewattananond enjoyed another top-10 when he signed off with his best score of two-under-par 70 to end his campaign at the ICTSI Philippine Open in tied-eighth place on Sunday. The Black Mountain sponsored player’s only blemish on the final day came at the par-five fifth where he had a bogey-six. Jazz would however turn on the afterburner by making birdies on holes seven, 11 and 14.

Here’s what the 18-year-old had to say after a challenging week in the Philippines.

“I’ll take this score any day! My first under-par round for the week. I made a lot of putts today and my score should have been lower. I’ll still take this score.

I wanted to get more experience this week so that I can play better in future Asian Tour tournaments. I’ve gained a lot of experience in these last few weeks. I played on long courses in Malaysia and Indonesia and this week I needed to plan my shots.

I’m glad that I can play on different type of golf courses now. You have to give yourself chances in every tournament you play in. You never know when the win will come so you have to play your best.

’ll be playing in a local tournament next week. After that I’ll work on my game in Black Mountain.”

American Berry Henson, another Black Mountain sponsored player, meanwhile closed with a 72 to take a share of 42nd place.
