The new putting green at Black Mountain is opened. A summer of course upgrades is coming to an end as all golf course improvements are finished. Thailands best golf course is ready for high season.
International flights to and from Hua Hin is close to reality as early as the end of the year. The airport authority has received a proposal from the Malaysian low-cost carrier Air Asia to operate daily flights between Hua Hin and its major hub in Kuala Lumpur.
Hua Hin is located between two climate zones making the total rain fall over a year a fraction compared with southern Thai turist destination such as Phuket and Krabi.
The driving range at Black Mountain will be upgraded in July.
– The goal is to make it look more like the golf course, says Black Mountain course manager Richard Halls.
During the renovation period in July the range will be closed.
– We will renovate the grass hitting areas and the target greens, add some bunkers for visual effect, make adjustments to the drainage system, add some arrogation and mow fairway shapes to the area, says Halls.
Black Mountain has had the great fortune to have won numerous prestigious awards since it’s opening ten years ago.
The annual Asian Golf Awards is a combination of golf fans and expert panel voting in many categories, including Best Golf Course in Asia and Best Golf Course in Thailand.
On 20 April 2007, the Black Mountain Golf Course was opened. Since then a lot has happen in the foothills of the mountain west of Hua Hin, Thailand.
