The Indian enjoyed one of his finest seasons on the Asian Tour last year when he finished 19th on the Order of Merit. A winner on the Tour but not since 2004, Rahil is determined to end an 11-year title drought at the True Thailand Classic presented by Black Mountain.

His close friend Anirban Lahiri, who won the Maybank Malaysian Open last week, will be an inspiration to Rahil, who enjoyed four top-10s last season including a runner-up result on home soil. The blustery conditions at the Black Mountain course is expected to make life difficult for players this week but Rahil will tap on his past knowledge of playing here at the 2013 King’s Cup where he finished tied 13th.
