Henson blog: Nice finish!

Berry Henson of the United States enjoyed his first top-10 finish on the Asian Tour this year when he posted a final round two-under-par 70 at the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters.

The Black Mountain sponsored player totalled two-under-par 286 to finish tied eighth, a solid effort after he opened his campaign with a disappointing 75.

In this blog, Henson reveals how he recovered from his poor form by meditating and practising in the windy conditions at Black Mountain to prepare for the new Asian Tour event in Mauritius.

I had a nice finish. I finally got a putt to go in on 14 and almost chipped in on 15. I birdied 16 and made two good up-and-downs to finish the day.

I didn’t play the par fives good enough to win this week. Honestly, I haven’t been feeling comfortable off the tees. I’m trying to build confidence. I don’t feel very comfortable on the golf course.

I’m trying to stay in my process and I did well with that over the weekend. I did some meditation after Thursday’s round to see those loose shots that I’ve been hitting.

It was good that we played in the windy conditions this week because it will be the same when we travel to Mauritius in two weeks. Now I’m looking forward to get my game ready at Black Mountain.

It is really windy at Black Mountain as well so that will be a good training ground for me.
