Motivated Thongchai ready for Nordea Masters

Thai legend Thongchai Jaidee will be motivated to shoot for the stars at the Nordea Masters in Sweden after receiving confirmation that he qualified for the U.S. Open next month. The Black Mountain sponsored player will be among an elite field which include Johan Edfors, Rikard Karlberg and Björn Hellgren, who will all be aiming for glory on home soil when the event starts on Thursday.

Thongchai qualified for the U.S. Open, a tournament which holds fond memories for the Thai as he made his Major debut at the event more than 10 years ago.

The three-time Asian Tour number one qualified for the 2001 U.S. Open where he placed tied 74th at Southern Hills Country Club before going on to claim his best result of tied 47th in the 2010 edition.

He missed the cut in last year’s U.S. Open and will aim to make amends after qualifying for the year’s second Major championship through his Official World Golf Ranking where he sits in 54th position.
