Welcome to the family, Champion!

Thailand’s Prom Meesawat is the latest addition to the Black Mountain family and what a way to welcome his arrival than with his win at the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship last Sunday.

The Thai ended his eight-year title drought on the Asian Tour by defeating Philippines’ Miguel Tabuena on the second extra hole and here’s what the ecstatic Prom had to say following his victory in Taiwan.

“It’s been so long! The last time I won was in 2006. I’ve been waiting for this moment. I’m feeling great right now. I’ve been working very hard and I’m glad to be back in the winners’ circle again.

This is my first win in a playoff. I missed out in the play-offs at last year’s Hong Kong Open and Resorts World Manila Masters.

My mind is blank right now. I am just very happy that I won. I want to dedicate this win to my family.

I tried to keep a clear mind when I went out there for the play-off.

I tried not to think about anything. It’s been a difficult day for everyone but I stayed patient.

It’s not easy playing on this course. I’m glad I did it.

Miguel (Tabuena) is a very good player. I think he has a bright future ahead of him. I hope he gets his win soon.

This is what I’ve been waiting for. I am really glad I made it. Hopefully I won’t have to wait another eight years to win again!

I will be aiming for a third win now and try to boost my rankings on the Asian Tour Order of Merit.

I will be taking a week off to rest. It’s been a tiring week as I came here from the Omega European Masters in Switzerland.

I didn’t get to play practice round and I had very little sleep. I’m looking forward to going home and celebrate this win with my family.”
