Thongchai resumes glory chase at WGC-Bridgestone Invitational

Thailand’s leading golfer Thongchai Jaidee will resume his chase for more glory after a sensational run which saw the Black Mountain sponsored player win the Nordea Masters and finish top-five in France and Germany in the last two months.

The world number 33 will come up against the likes of defending champion Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott in Akron, Ohio and believes a well-planned schedule is key to staying at the top of his game.

After finishing tied-39th at the Open Championship, the Thai ace took a week off to recuperate from his exertions and is now hopeful of delivering on the big stage again.

“I needed to be off for a week before I play again as it’s important to keep fresh and keep the body strong.

The scheduling is very important. I’m trying to cut it down a bit, trying to ensure I play the big tournaments on the Asian Tour as well and being out here in Europe and the US.

You have to plan well especially in the end of the year when there are big events. You have to cut down some events eventually,” said Thongchai.
