Thongchai four shots back of leaders in Doral

March 8: Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee, who is sponsored by Black Mountain, posted a second round two-over-par74 to stay four shots behind the American leaders at the halfway stage of the WGC-Callidac Championship on Friday.

The Americans showed their dominance with Patrick Reed, Dustin Johnson, Matt Kucher and Hunter Mahan sitting atop the leaderboard after compiling matching two-day totals of one-under-par143s.

Thongchai delighted the crowd in Doral when his tee shot on the par-three 15 landed within three feet of the pin where he would easily putt for a birdie. The Thai will have to show the same kind of consistency in order to reduce his four-shot deficit and power his way back into contention after he posted rounds of 73 and 74 for a 147 total.

Thongchai heads into the weekend rounds in tied-17th place alongside Spain’s Miguel Angel Jimenez, South Africa’s Richard Sterne and former champion Nick Watney of the United States.
