Thongchai heads to Aberdeen on a high

Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee will have his confidence boost on all fronts as he heads to take on another strong field at this week’s Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.

The Black Mountain star finished tied-second in France last week and climbed to a career-high 34th place on the Official World Golf Ranking.

Thongchai has long been regarded as one of Asia’s leading players having won three Asian Tour Order of Merit titles and 13 titles on the Asian Tour. He also holds six European Tour victories which included two wins on European soil.

The Thai will tee off alongside Wales’ Jamie Donaldson and former World number one Rory McIlory in what promises to be a tantalizing opening clash in Scotland.

Other Black Mountain players in action this week include Sweden’s Pelle Edberg at the D+D Real Slovakia Challenge while Germany’s Alex Cejka will tee up at the John Deere Classic on the PGA Tour.
