Action Is Heating Up At Long Drive Contest

The big bombers and power hitters of Thailand have been duking it out in serious competition to sort out the biggest of the big hitters who will qualify for the final round this weekend.

The final eight to qualify for the finals made it through the last heat of the “Thailand Long Drive Championships” which was held at Suvarnabhumi and they will be joining 32 finalists who will be involved in a knock-down-drag-out challenge at Black Mountain Golf Club on Saturday, March 3.

Preparations for this major tournament have been progressing in earnest at the club and club personnel together with the team from Golf Channel have been marking up the 18th hole which will serve as the fairway for the long drive contest.

“Spectators are going to have a great view of the action, as competitors will tee up directly in front of the bar, driving the ball straight down the 18th fairway,” said Harald Elisson, managing director of Black Mountain.

The 32 finalists will compete throughout the morning, culminating in a grand finale in the afternoon.

It’s going to be action stations galore as the best long hitters in Thailand vie for a spot to play in the Long Drive Tournament in North America. Make a date to come to Black Mountain to soak up the action!

For members and guests, regular play will be as normal, with players teeing off on the East Course, with the second nine being played on the West Course.
