Rahil hopes to make big splash at True Thailand Classic presented by Black Mountain Hua Hin.
February 11: Rahil Gangjee of India took a more relaxed approach ahead of the inaugural US$2 million True Thailand Classic presented by Bla
ck Mountain. The amiable Indian took time away from the golf course to spend tim
e with his wife Maithreyi at the Black Mountain Waterpark, one of the most exciting attractions in Hua Hin.
Rahil will be among the star-studded field gathered for the newest tournament on the Asian Tour and European Tour which will be staged at the beautiful Black Mountain Golf and Country Club. The Indian enjoyed one of his finest seasons on the Asian Tour last year when he finished 19th on the Order of Merit. A winner on the Tour but not since 2004, Rahil is determined to end an 11-year title drought at the True Thailand Classic presented by Black Mountain.
His close friend Anirban Lahiri, who won the Maybank Malaysian Open last week, will be an inspiration to Rahil, who enjoyed four top-10s last season including a runner-up result on home soil. The blustery conditions at the Black Mountain course is expected to make life difficult for players this week but Rahil will tap on his past knowledge of playing here at the 2013 King’s Cup where he finished tied 13th.
Black Mountain is a one stop venue for golfers and their family as they offer a championship golf course and exciting attractions. This week’s True Thailand Classic presented by Black Mountain is the perfect opportunity for Black Mountain to showcase its beautiful golf course as the best players from Asia and Europe strive to become the first champion in the prestigious tournament.
