Black Mountain sponsored star Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand opened his campaign with a two-over-par 74 at the PGA Championship on Thursday.
Fellow sponsored player Alex Cejka of Germany was a further two shots back on 74 at the year’s fourth and final Major where American Dustin Johnson currently holds the first round lead with his opening 66.
Thongchai started well with a birdie on the third hole but stumbled with two bogeys on holes four and six before another birdie on nine saw him turn in 36.
The Thai seemed to have steadied the ship when he made further gains on 10 and 16 until two double-bogeys on 17 and 18 pushed him down the leaderboard to a share of 71st place.
Cejka meanwhile also had a day to forget after he traded three birdies, five bogeys and a double-bogey for a round of 76 to languish in tied-102 place.
